Moms, dads, grandparents, family members, and all loved ones – the ZSR needs your help! In preparation for finals, the ZSR is once again hosting the “words of encouragement” initiative to motivate students for exam week. They are asking faculty, staff, students, alumni, and parents and family members to submit words of encouragement and other quotes for our students during finals week. These statements will be shared on the digital displays throughout the ZSR library during finals week and will be shared electronically on the ZSR webpage. Please do consider sending some words of encouragement – you never know the difference your words can make to our Deacs!
In other good deeds, last week was DESK, a service project that helps provide vibrant and colorful painted desks to area students. There is a terrific photostory about the project, and also a wonderful short video where you can see our students’ handiwork. DESK is one of the big spring service projects, and it was really great that we were able to adapt how it worked so it could run this year despite the pandemic.
Letters So Dear went out yesterday to the Class of 2024; read it here, and see the archives.
Did you know that world famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma will be joining us for our Face to Face speaker series on May 4th? The virtual event is free for your Deacs, and families can get $10 tickets, or join the Face to Face series with a subscription. There are a number of fabulous speakers planned for the coming months, too.
After a bit of an unexpected cool snap, we are back to the late April weather I love: warm but not beastly, some rain but not days of supersoakers. This should be a good week for your Deacs to enjoy the outdoors.
