And I mean Happy Friday in all senses of the word. Sun is out, we never had an extended power outage, and life feels pretty good I must say. We’ll keep today short and to the point.

Students and families got this message last night about the lifting of some campus restrictions that is happening starting this weekend. Lots of details in there to explore, but the bottom line is we are trying to cautiously edge back to more normal operations. This is encouraging news.

Students also got a message today that for the time being, our restrictions remain in place in our residence halls. We will continue to evaluate our progress with the relaxed campus restrictions, and the goal of course is to revert to our former visitation policies in residence halls as soon as we can. We appreciate everyone’s patience.

Friday is the right day to call your Deacs and say – even though you’ve probably said it every week – wear a mask whenever you are with other people, seek care immediately for any symptoms, report possible exposures, and comply with weekly testing. We all have to keep rowing in the same direction to get through this, and we are grateful for your partnership!

Have a great weekend, Daily Deacdom! Gonna try to bring you more fun news next week 🙂

PS – Call Center (336-758-7500) is open tomorrow and Sunday from 10-5 Eastern for your information needs.
