Today is sunny and a beautiful and balmy 66 degrees. Which is exactly the kind of February weather I dreamed of as a 17 year old living in Pennsylvania. Nothing like a little sunshine and the ability to be outdoors longer to improve everyone’s mood. May your Deacs soak up lots of vitamin D and enjoy every minute.

Spring at Wake is a glorious time. We are still maybe a month away (give or take) from the full, spectacular profusion of flowers and flowering trees. But it is coming, and it will be something to behold when it gets here. Some past years’ pics below to give you a sense of what I’m talking about.

Yesterday our ’24 Deacs got their weekly edition of Letters So Dear; you can read archives here. Please encourage your Deacs (of all ages) to go to the Virtual Involvement Fair, which will be held from 6-8 pm from March 1-4. One of the keys to students’ sense of belonging on campus is through participation in student organizations. This is a terrific opportunity for students to broaden their engagements and build their social networks.

There was a great story about the new African American Studies major and minor set to launch this summer. I also got a copy of the Student Union e-newsletter, which was entitled In-Person STU Events Are Back! Lots of options for students to take advantage of in this issue.
