Several more updates and FYIs today:

Student Health Service has some important updates on SneezSafe that might be helpful to your students.

Longtime readers know I am a big believer in the Koru Mindfulness classes offered by the Chaplain’s office; having a calm mind can help bring a calm outlook to one’s life and work. The spring Koru schedule has been released, and interested students can sign up.

Mindful Wake offerings in spring 2021

For students who are starting to think about where/when they will best study (or take an online class), this is a reminder that we have a Wake Study Space website where students can find reservable spaces, as well as walk-in spaces. College classroom reservations will open on 1/25.Wake Study Space website

Winston-Salem State and Wake Forest’s long-time annual partnership featuring a keynote speaker and celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will not be held this year, but will return in 2022. Each institution will recognize faculty, staff and student members through their “Building the Dream” Award in March. There is an MLK Read-In on Saturday; details.

In honor of the MLK holiday, the University and our Call Center will be closed on Monday (we will reopen Tuesday 1/19). As always, if you have questions, you can submit them on our COVID form, or for needs after hours that are time-sensitive and truly urgent, you can visit our After Hours page for guidance. Next week we will have the January Wake Parents & Families e-newsletter for you, and additional information about updates for spring will follow (as we finalize some of the minutiae).

Have a great weekend and be safe, y’all.
