Rogan KershWe have an annual tradition at Wake that is eagerly anticipated – our Provost, Rogan Kersh (’86), releases his “Best of” list that features his picks for best books, movies, music, restaurants, and long reads. Every year I get it and try to find things I have read that have made the list (occasionally), or restaurants I have eaten at before (rarely), but I cherish the list because it gives me great suggestions. Parents and families have enjoyed the list too, which is why we are sharing it with you.

Rogan’s Best of 2020 list has an extra special bonus: one of the books was read in a WFU class, and the author joined in a virtual discussion with our students. I won’t spoil the surprise, but I will simply say that her previous book was the single best book on American history that I have read to date.

2020 had an awful lot of dumpster fire qualities, so I am extra grateful to Rogan for finding – and sharing – some joyful diversions. Enjoy his Best of 2020 list!

Wishing you all a safe and happy New Year’s Eve and may 2021 be a far kinder year.
