As we continue this week leading up to Spring Break, thought I would bring you a few program notes.
Is your Deac a fan of The Office? (Have to confess it is one of my all time faves!) Tonight is Office Trivia in Shorty’s. But if your Deac isn’t a fan of The Office’s Andy Bernard’s a cappella singing and wants a more professional option 🙂 the Concert Choir also has a concert tonight.
The Learning Assistance Center and Disability Services, in partnership with Outdoor Pursuits and the Documentary Film Program, will be hosting a film screening and discussion of Bombardier Blood.
Follow mountaineer Chris Bombardier on a historic mission to become the first person with hemophilia to climb the Seven Summits. The intimate, unflinching film also chronicles Chris’s quest to bring aid and fundraise for people with hemophilia where access to life-saving treatment is scarce, and the disease is often deadly.
This will be tomorrow (Wednesday, March 4) at 7 pm in Pugh Auditorium.
Pizza with the Police is on Thursday. Any time a college student can get free pizza, they should!
There are other options on the Events Calendar. This might be a light-ish week for events, as some Deacs have been known to depart early for Spring Break.
Wanted also to share updates on our work with coronavirus. Students who are returning from the Venice program received this email yesterday, and their roommates received this message. Both of these went out after my deadline to get it in yesterday’s Daily Deac. We also made some updates to our coronavirus site today (scroll down for University Communications, where we are logging everything we send). One of the challenges associated with the coronavirus situation is that things can change very rapidly. Please know that we will continue to update you as there is new information.
Finally, know there was a terrible tornado lastnight in Nashville. We have a lot of Deacs in that area and just wanted to send some love to you all. Hope you and yours are OK.
