I have been in academic advising much of today, so a very short Daily Deac.

Hope you all received the email to all families regarding the report of shots fired off campus. Read the full message here. Students had also received a general safety message to remind them of the variety of safety related measures they can take; read it here. Of course, the safety of all members of the campus community is the University’s top priority and we continue to make every effort to maintain a safe campus, which has included increasing patrol of Polo Road near the University and other areas on- and off-campus.

Caleb Woody (’20) wrote this week’s Letters So Dear to our ’23s; read it here.

Residents of Bostwick and Johnson Halls received a message about room inspections; read it here.

Keep an eye out on the weather for Family Weekend. Looks like some rain mid-week but hope that it clears out before you arrive.

Also, our thoughts and prayers are with all Deac families in CA with these terrible wildfires. May you and yours be safe.

Thanks for your patience with the choppy blog today – trying to get this published before deadline (and in-between meetings).
