After what felt like endless days of rain, we are finally seeing the sun. Thank goodness.

We have been getting several questions about registration for incoming first-year students. The best place to start is to look at the New Students website page Planning for Registration. Of particular help may be the Registration Guide on that page, which shows your Deac how to look up which classes are being taught in the fall.

We also have had some question about how parents and families access grades. Grade release is controlled by the federal law FERPA, and students have to grant families access to their grades and other details. They can do that by a process called Proxy Access; details here.

Also, summer is the right time to remind all families – not just incoming P’23s! – that every year, you must either enroll in student health insurance or go through the waiver process. Please be sure to either enroll or waive by August 15 – if you take no action, you will be billed for health insurance. More details are available here. Hint: choose the Enroll or Waive option in the grey bar on the website.

And for any of our Daily Deac families in the Miami area (or whose students are there for the summer), I have a favor to ask: we are looking for a few current students to attend our Miami New Student Reception this coming Saturday afternoon. If your Deac can attend and help answer questions for the incoming students, please have them email parents@wfu.edu and I will get back to them with details. Thanks in advance for your help!
