Our Deacs are back on campus, hopefully rested and relaxed after a few days off and (we hope) a lot of good food, fun, and loved ones. We’re starting Monday morning on a rainy and grey note, which does not make it easy to get back in work mode. (Update in the afternoon – sun is out!)

There are only 2 weeks left for classes – the last day is next Friday, December 7th – and then final exams start. This is typically a high stress time for students, particularly our first year students. Not knowing what to expect for their first set of college finals can be daunting. Today’s Weekly Message for First Year Families is about finals and relaxation – two things that seem contradictory, but really should go hand in hand.

Over the weekend we had a great joy – Wake crushed Duke in football and are now bowl eligible – and also some heartache, as our men’s soccer team lost lastnight. Heads high, men: you have had a succession of incredible seasons and you are a joy to watch. Always proud of our student-athletes from all teams!
