As we continue a busy week with academic advising, wanted to pass along some info that might be especially interesting and useful to our P’17 senior parents and families.  This is about the MSBA, or Master of Science in Business Analytics.  This is a graduate program where students learn to analyze “big data” – which, if I understand correctly, can be things like real-time data from retailers (like when you scan a rewards card at the grocery store or drug store).

This year was the launch of this new program at the Business School.  They welcomed 39 students in July, nine of whom are “Double Deacs” (aka undergrads here who are seeking a WFU grad degree).  This was a diverse inaugural class with an exceptional academic profile, comprising over 15 different majors and 27 colleges/universities represented.

I am told by my Business School sources that this first class has had a strong start and students are well into their fall semester “Mini 2” coursework.  You can learn more about the coursework and the program in this PDF: Wake Forest MSBA 2016-17 Program Brochure.

If you have a senior Deac who is an analytical type and is looking for his or her next move after Commencement, this could be something to consider.  I am also told that Wake students/recent alumni can apply for free by using the fee waiver code: DEACON.
