The Parent Programs office received a very thoughtful question yesterday from a parent, and we think its one worth sharing here on the Daily Deac.  The question was about recent incidents at other universities with bomb threats, and what would Wake Forest do in an emergency situation.

There is a website called Wake Ready that students and parents should read and bookmark so that they know how to be prepared before an emergency happens.  In the event of an emergency, there is a Crisis Management Team that would be activated.  The Parent Programs office has a representative on that broad-based team and we meet regularly and do drills.   The people on that team are top notch, so be assured there is a very strong team in place.

This article on the Wake Ready web site describes our process in greater detail.  We also cover this on the Parents’ Page; there is a Q&A page about Safety and Security.
