Today’s Photo – Habitat for Humanity

Today’s Photo of the Day comes from the Wake Forest Habitat for Humanity house project.  Volunteers from campus worked throughout the fall to help build a house for a local family.

Photo of the Day – Teaching

The Daily Deac continues its look into the photo archives and the images captured this semester by our University Photographer, Ken Bennett.

Today’s image shows Wake Forest senior Kaela MacPhail (’11) teaching a lesson using iPad tablet computers in her kindergarten student-teaching class at Ashley Elementary School.

Today’s Image – T-Shirt Project

As we continue our countdown to the University’s closing for Winter Break, the Daily Deac is featuring some of the best images from our University Photographer, Ken Bennett.  Come back every day for a new Picture of the Day!

Wake Forest incorporates service projects in some of its academic classes.  Here is an example of public engagement at work in conjunction with a class: students in the Women and Gender Studies class Human Rights: Theory and Practice organized a student activism project on Manchester Plaza.  Students decorated t-shirts about human rights, human trafficking and more.

Image of the Day – Student Service

During the University’s break, we continue our look back into the semester in images.  Today’s image shows four representatives from Wake Forest who attended the Interfaith Youth Corps Leadership Institute at Georgetown University and The White House in Washington, DC.

Wake Forest students are encouraged to live an examined and purposeful life, in service to humanity, in the spirit of the University motto of “Pro Humanitate.”

Image of the Day – Candles

As the Daily Deac continues its look back into the semester in pictures, today’s image shows candles from the Wake Forest Love Feast.

Merry Christmas to All!

Parents and Wake Forest Families, on behalf of the Office of Parent Programs, we wish you and yours a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Go Deacs!

Images from Campus – A Very Big Star

Today is the last day of work at the University before we close for the staff’s Winter Break.  To keep with the holiday spirit, here’s a Photo of the Day that shows the size of the Moravian Star that hangs at Wait Chapel each December.

Photo of the Day – Fall Leaves

The Daily Deac continues its look into the photo archives and the images captured this semester by our University Photographer, Ken Bennett.

Today we are featuring two Photos of the Day – highlighting the beautiful fall foliage on the Quad.

Today’s Image from the Photo Archives – Finals

As we continue our countdown to the University’s closing for Winter Break, the Daily Deac is featuring some of the best images from our University Photographer, Ken Bennett.  Come back every day for a new Picture of the Day!

This student has made himself at home in the library during the week of Final Exams.

Bonus Photo of the Day – NYC Finance Club Trip

Wake Forest parents make remarkable contributions to the lives of our students.  By supporting the parents’ campaign and doing any of the other ‘25 Ways You Can Help Wake Forest’, parents make a real and lasting difference.

Today’s bonus photo of the day is of our Parents’ Council member Jim Awad (P ’13), who recently hosted members of the WFU Finance Club when they were in New York seeking summer internships.

The Office of Parent Programs loves to hear stories of parents helping our students, spreading the word of Wake Forest in their home areas, or simply displaying their Demon Deacon pride.  Do you have pictures with WFU attire (hats, shirts, etc.) or flags?  Or maybe a WFU display in your home?  A Deacon Christmas tree?  Photos from a Wake Forest party you had at your house?  Send your pics to parents@nullwfu.edu and we’ll post the best of them!
