The Parent Programs office received the following email from the Student Health Service about the parent alcohol orientation sessions that will be offered on Friday, August 24 as part of Move-In.
Welcome to Wake Forest University. You are a vital part of your student’s experience here at Wake Forest. I am encouraging you to attend one of the Parent Alcohol Orientation Sessions on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 10:00 am, 11:30 am, 2:00 pm, 3:30 pm, or 5:00 pm in Pugh Auditorium of the Benson University Center.
Please come hear stories and tips from Wake Forest University Professionals about ways to engage with your student regarding expectations, attitudes, and beliefs about collegiate alcohol use. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to send me an email at email@example.com.
We are excited your student has chosen to attend Wake Forest, and we wish you the best during their transition to university life. Thank you for your time.

One of the best ways parents/families can help their students is to let them solve their own problems. Use the Stop, Drop, and Roll method when your student contacts you with a problem. The flyer also lists contact information for serious concerns where family intervention might be appropriate.
Select slide shows from Orientation sessions are available online.
The Office of Family Engagement provides information and support to Wake Forest parents, guardians, grandparents, and family members. The office maintains the Family Engagement Page of the Wake Forest website, which is the primary vehicle of communication with families, as well as our Facebook and Twitter presence.
