The following message was sent to all incoming first-year and new students.

Welcome to our newest Demon Deacons!

We are excited for your arrival on the Reynolda campus for New Deac Week, Wake Forest University’s orientation program. When you arrive, you will be greeted by community members who will help you unpack your car, meet your RA, and get ready for your first day on campus as a Demon Deacon.

New Deac Week offers a full schedule of programs and events designed to provide a strong foundation for your college experience. Throughout the week you will have many opportunities to get to know others in the Class of 2021, and you will receive resources and information you will need to succeed at Wake Forest.

To ensure that you get the best possible start at Wake Forest, it is important that you spend your first days in our community fully engaged with orientation activities and other members of the Class of 2021. For these reasons, it is our expectation that you attend only those events listed on the New Deac Week schedule.

Sophomores, juniors, and seniors will also return to campus this week. We have asked our returning students to respect the importance of New Deac Week and refrain from involving you in any social events they plan during these first critical days. For the best interest of all involved, we ask that you respect this boundary. There will be plenty of time for you to meet and connect with returning students once classes begin.

We wish you much success throughout your transition and look forward to seeing you around campus!  Go Deacs!
