The Hillary Clinton campaign announced today that it will move an Oct. 27 campaign rally featuring Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and First Lady Michelle Obama to the Coliseum.  Initially, the Clinton campaign announced that the event would be held on Hearn Plaza.  The potential for inclement weather on Oct. 27 was cited by the Clinton campaign as the reason for moving to the Coliseum.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. in the Coliseum. Doors will open at approximately 11 a.m.

Anyone attending is encouraged to RSVP as soon as possible.  The Clinton campaign will send additional details to all who RSVP, approximately 12 hours before the event. Tickets are not required.

The Clinton campaign has made arrangements for Wake Forest students, faculty and staff to be bused from campus to the Coliseum for the campaign rally.  Starting at 10:30 a.m.Oct. 27 in Parking Lot P (east side of Wait Chapel) buses will begin taking students, faculty and staff to the event.  The buses will continue transporting campus community members to the Coliseum until the campaign rally begins.  After the event, the buses will return students, faculty and staff to campus. More details will be announced by the University later.

Those attending the rally are encouraged by the Clinton campaign not to bring bags onto the bus or into the Coliseum.  No signs or banners will be permitted by the Clinton campaign on buses or in the Coliseum.  All people attending the event are encouraged to limit personal items taken onto the bus or into the Coliseum. Anything carried is subject to being searched at the Coliseum, slowing entry into the Coliseum.

A high level of security will be present at the Coliseum before and during the Clinton event.  All those attending should expect a level of security that is typical for appearances by presidential candidates.

An additional email will be sent by the University to students, faculty and staff as more details are made known by the Clinton campaign.

The Clinton campaign approached University officials, recently, to request permission to hold a rally at Wake Forest.  In accordance with University policies and practices, the University agreed to the use of a University location for campaign purposes. After initially settling on Hearn Plaza as a location, the Clinton campaign decided to move the rally to the University’s Coliseum.
