Family Weekend is concluded, and the staff of the Dean of Students office did a terrific job with all the events of the weekend.  (And it did not rain during the football game! Which after the last couple of years is a big win!)

Today is a day off for me, so I am bringing you pictures of the place I will be visiting this afternoon: Pilot Mountain.  It’s about 25-35 minutes drive north of campus, and you can enjoy it looking from an overlook area, or you can take one of several hikes, ranging from mild to strenuous.  On any given day, you might see hawks and eagles, people rock climbing, and – at this time of year – spectacular foliage. An aerial view of Polo Residence Hall on the campus of Wake Forest University, with Pilot Mountain in the distance.
