This morning I got a hold of a PDF of the Parents and Families Orientation brochure.  For those of you who are looking for the schedule, here it is: WFU_Parent-Orientation-brochure_2017.  Heads up: for much of the time on Weds. afternoon and Thursday, you and your Deacs will be on separate Orientation tracks.  This is deliberate – it will give your students time to bond within their advising group and with their student adviser (who will be assigned later this summer closer to Move-In).

An email went out yesterday to all incoming ’21 students with lots of information about upcoming deadlines and action items. To see that email, as well as previous ones students received, look here.

Finally, for those ’21s who are looking to have a great Pre-Orientation experience, I got a message today saying there is still space available in S.P.A.R.C.  Details below.

Approaching its second decade, the S.P.A.R.C. pre-orientation program has become one of the valued traditions of becoming a Demon Deacon. Students Promoting Action and Responsibility in the Community is a four day program, were students arrive on campus early to dive into our Pro Humanitate motto through direct service opportunities.

During S.P.A.R.C., students will meet with local community partners engage in service projects, learn about the issues impacting Winston-Salem and build relationships with fellow Demon Deacons. First year students will be placed in a group of four students, with an upperclass mentor. The mentors will lead service activities, answer any questions about Wake Forest University and get students even more excited to start their time on campus! Students will get an inside look at Winston-Salem and get an early start in joining the Wake Forest community. Please encourage your students to apply for S.P.A.R.C.!  Applications are due this Saturday July 15th.
