From a West Point Mom
Deac families, this week is heavy into academic advising, so much of the week will be pre-scheduled posts so I can give advisees the time they need as they look forward to registration. In that spirit, today’s Daily Deac will be short.
Had to share this, which was sent to me by a current Deac mom. Following the football game Saturday against Army, a mom on the West Point Mom’s page wrote this about the WFU experience:
“In a time full of negativity in both the sports and political world I would like to share a bit of good will! We went to see Army West Point play Wake Forest today. Wake Forest was a gracious host! They started by having their band face our stands and play “The Army Goes Marching Along” song prior to the game. Then they had 6 members of the U.S.Army’s Golden Knights parachute into the stadium and land on the field. During a commercial break they honored all veterans and current military members (Including our West Point Cadets) by having them stand to cheers of admiration from the fans. AND last BUT NOT least, their players came over after losing a tough game and stood behind our players for the singing of West Points Alma Mater! THANK YOU WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY players, fans, and staff. You are the perfect example of what college sports should represent. #GoArmy #ThankYouWakeForest
