Family Weekend will be held October 4-6, and this is a wonderful weekend for Wake Forest students and families.  The full schedule of events is online.

The Daily Deac wanted to copy some of the information about registration, especially for those new parents who might have questions.

Here is their registration FAQ (below) and a link to the full FAQ – and the full Family Weekend site is also available.

Registration & General Information

When does registration and ticket purchasing begin?

Our site will open on July 17th. At this time you’ll be able to register for the weekend and purchase tickets for the football game and other ticketed events.

Is the registration fee charged per person or per family?

The registration fee is one per family. It is charged with your first ticket purchase. Any subsquent purchases will not include the fee. It is also possible to register for the weekend without purchasing any tickets at all.

What does the registration fee cover?

Family Weekend is a production of Student Union, a student run, all-volunteer campus organization. The rest of the year we stay busy planning and producing events, lectures, concerts and workshops for other WFU students. The registration fee helps us to cover the many expenses associated with running Family Weekend, including any complementary refreshments or events, website hosting and maintenance, credit card fees, postage, printing, and registration supplies, just to name a few. Once the bills are paid, if there’s anything left over we use it to plan more fun activities for your students the rest of the year!

I want to register and purchase event tickets. How does this work?

Before purchasing any tickets from this site, you will need to register. This process begins on July 17, when you will be able to click a “Register and Purchase” link in the left navigation of our site. You will then be prompted to enter your email address so we can send you a system password. Please type your email address twice rather than using ‘copy/paste’, because this guards against typos that could delay your password’s arrival in your email inbox. The password should arrive very quickly. If it does not, please call our office at 336-758-4869 and we will assist you.

Be aware that at times on 7/17 it may be difficult to get through on our office phone. Another option is to email the webmaster at mohanab@wfu.edu or simply wait an hour or so and you should be able to reach us. While you’re waiting, please don’t worry! While events do sell out, this generally doesn’t happen on the first day or even the first week of registration.

Once you receive your password, return to the “Register and Purchase” link and use it to log in. You will be prompted to enter some simple contact info. Be sure to give us your cell phone number if you’d like to receive important (and very limited) text updates about ticket pickup and other game day information during Family Weekend. Then you will be taken to the purchase form. Your registration fee of $30 is charged with the first purchase. Check our schedule, talk with your family, and read the purchase form carefully before you buy!

Are tickets refundable if we change our minds?

Event tickets are refundable for the first 72 hours after purchase. After this period, all sales are final. All registration and handling fees are non-refundable. If the initial period has passed and we are not able to refund your ticket payment, you may be able to sell unwanted tickets to another family on campus. Email the webmaster for more information or to request a refund within the refund period.

Are siblings, grandparents and other relatives/friends welcome at Family Weekend?

Absolutely! The more the merrier!

When we purchase tickets through this website, do we receive them in the mail?

No. All tickets will be with your registration packet and can be picked up beginning Friday at 12 noon in the rotunda area of the Benson University Center. There is also late registration on Saturday from 8:30am – 11am.

Where do we pick up our registration information and tickets if we arrive later than 7pm on Friday?

If you know you will arrive late, you can have your student come to the Benson University Center between 12noon and 7pm on Friday to pick up all your materials (student ID required). There will also be late registration on Saturday morning from 8am-11am. After registration closes, any remaining football ticket order will be taken to the will-call window at BB&T Field. Families with WFU Baseball Park Tailgate tickets may proceed directly to the WFU Baseball Park, where staff will have a list of attendees’ names.
